Wondering what equipment and experience requirements do the major van lines require to be an owner operator. First post, thanks for all info.

You will be pulling a co trailer probably, maybe for an agent. Your power requirement will be normal. 3 axle sleeper. Not sure on the equipment ( moving pads, dollies, straps) You need to know all the tricks in moving furniture. You may be required to pack the residence. Mostly you will hire grunts from the local agent to lump the customers stuff on and off. These guys will know a lot about furniture. Someone also has to inventory customers possessions on and off. Be careful to separate multiple customers stuff. I have slept at customers house in spare bedroom when I did furniture and actually had a grandma who wanted to climb on board and "see the country". She was dead serious.
Passoverlamb47, Opendeckin, RefMata and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you’re pulling their trailers, you’ll do a lot of drop/hook. In that case, carry plenty of straps, all flavors. If you wanna be really versatile grab a pallet Jack to keep around.
if you’re considering pulling your van, get a logistics van. One with tons of e trac, top to bottom, wall to wall, floors, etc. make sure it’s a plate trailer. And again, tons of straps. I kept 15-20 all the time. Just my .02Passoverlamb47 Thanks this. -
Thought there was a bedbuggers forum on here ?

So just call and talk to an office about whether I need my own trailer or I am pulling theirs, right?? Yeah I was a foreman in the moving business before I started trucking, pretty professional in all the moving techniques and tricks. Thanks for the advice guys I appreciate it, and if their is a bed bugger forum on here if someone could point it out to me I’d appreciate it cus I looked and couldn’t find one.
