Hey folks!
My names Ryan, I am 27, married and decided that it's time for a change from working call center jobs that go no where. I have always enjoyed driving, had some family who have driven long haul including my grandfather who was an old school O/O for 30+ years, met my grandmother while he was on the road and she worked at a truck stop.
Also my mother is currently back on the road with her boyfriend who is an O/O and a pretty great guy.
Looking into fighting for a Local or Regional route for the first year or so to get some experience plus have the ability to still see my wife every night or other night. I am lucky enough to have an IITR Truck Driving school near my home (literally 10 miles away, easy commute for classes so no major rooming cost) and I am going to work with them to get into a class in a few months.
I am aiming to be done and on the road by the end of the year if not sooner, I have been trolling around this board for a while, reading information on companies and what-not during my research and finally decided to register so I can actually chat with everyone as well.
Anyway, that is a bit about me and I will appreciate any helpful assistance people could give me on getting into this career, my wife has already said she would support me and after her job as a nanny has finished up (kids getting to the age where they won't need a nanny soon) then she has said she would like to go OTR with me for long haul.
