What state and what county? What law are they quoting? When did that law go into effect? And when did you move there? Are other trucks parked there? When did the person who filed the complain move there? What is the counties vested interest in the issue? Is your truck parked in a way that obstructs traffic? Is it just the Truck or truck and trailer? What do you look like in a bikini? These are the questions we have to know the answers to.
Well maybe one of them was a joke.
You can park your truck in your driveway legally. The trailer might be an issue.

El Paso, TX has a law prohibiting the parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas. However if the vehicle is on the owners property, it's legal. It's a loophole nobody bothered to close.
The city doesn't plan to because lots of residents have side businesses like taco trucks, ice cream trucks, table and chair rentals, etc. that they park on their property.
Trying to prohibit that would open a Pandora's box.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -

see if you are granfathered in. what I mean is if you lived there before the ordnance was passed you may have every right to still park there. they wouldn't be able to do a thing about it. that happened to me years ago. I have a shop in the city limits for over 30 yrs they passed an ordnance 7 yrs ago. had the lawyer argue that point. still park on my lot. sometimes more than one when I go on a buying spree.

There's really only one right thing to do. Until the appeal, park it in front of the complainer's house and make sure to idle.

We ran into this issue ourselves. My bf had been parking his truck in our driveway every weekend for mths. One night we got woke up at 3 am by the local pd saying they had a complaint about it being in the driveway idling (auto start kicked on) and informed us that there is an ordinance against parking commercial vehicles on residential property. PD saw the truck there on a regular basis but said nothing til a complaint was filed. Luckily for us, we have a large parking lot across the street from us and pd told him to park his truck there. So far so good although we have pulled it in the driveway when I have to vacuum it out.

Had a neighbor like that,I was never so happy as the day he and his wife moved. Is there a trkstop around there your husband can park his trk?

You should have more consideration for your neighbors .
It is stupid crap like that gets trucks run out of town .
There is no excuse to have auto start on in a residential area.
If it is winter plug it in or park it away from the neighbor hood .jeepnut_nh and fortycalglock Thank this. -
