Not sure if all at-will trucking jobs end in a termination tag?

Termination and separation are the same.

termination and resignation are a bit different, the former is being involuntary separation, where a resignation is a voluntary seperation.

My manager said it would be mutual agreed to termination in the system. I'm guessing if you have the eligible to be re hired that implies a mutual agreement termination on a DAC report?

In todays lingo, termination in trucking means employee and employer have separated.

Only some trucking companies subscribe to HireRight (formerly DAC).

You can get a free copy of your DAC AT LEAST once per year.

Voluntary resignation, self-termination, quitting are the same. Lay-off, dismissal, firing, let-go, are basically the same thing. The later, you are eligible to file for unemployment benefits(in most cases).

We have kindler, gentler words now so we don’t psychologically harm anyone. Gone are the straight to the point words that were understood leaving no doubt about what just happened.

When I resigned from KAG last year year I just drafted a simple resignation letter that I PDF'd to the boss.

That went in my file and I kept the PDF copy.

It was just a simple letter, to whom it concerns, i resign my position at KAG, etc, etc.

I already had a new job, yada, yada,

I don't understand how changing companies would go on a DAC report unless you got fired for some reason?

Oh, I get it, he got fired from the company, didn't have the option to resign

I always like the stories where the employee quickly quits before he gets fired. Later he’s telling his buddies, “ya I won’t work for a guy who talks to me that way.”
