Where is your spirit of adventure??? If your insurance is good till midnight. Wait till around dark, take the backroads and moonlight it home...

its not a big deal at all, some of you are making mountains out of mole hills, you can call comdata and get temp permits for each state needed. use the insurance card you got.

and a hunters permit is simple, get it and use the insurance that's good til midnite.

Chris50 and fortycalglock Thank this.

Chris50 Florida is the worse state that you can get a plate from, just wait until you start dealing with them. They will not give you any temp plate or perm plate if you dont show them cargo insurance. I have tried with my bobtail insurance to get a plate for 2 months, the Tallahasse office are lazy and irresponsible office rats that they dont do their job at all! I was ready to take them to court, got all the proofs! Be careful and good luck! I really dont know how you can get that truck down beside towing! Lots of weight stations most of them are open all the time!

Thanks again, Im going to try to go straight to the new gig from Atlanta... The new gig will send a temporary packet to my home so i can get to orientation so i dont see why they wouldnt send it to where im at. I will get it figured out this week when all the office folks go back to work.

Cargo insurance is not required. Liability insurance is. Any local tax collector will give you a TOP or temp tag. As far as the actual plate, you have to go to St Pete or Tally. I've been to both a few times and as long as you have proof of insurance, a 2290, a lease if leased on somewhere, you'll get your tag. If you don't know the difference between cargo and liability, maybe the problem is somewhere else.
Bobtail insurance is ONLY valid if you are leased on to a carrier, it is a secondary insurance policy. You will need a primary liability policy to get plates.

Dont end up getting pulled over telling the officer someone on the internet told you its ok

Tickets are to LARGE to mess around with this kind of thing $$$$$$$$$
