I can’t say for sure, but more than 1 Broker #s, they could be flipping freight, through their system. Double Dipping. It happens all the time when Leased to Carriers, with their own Brokerage. Brokerage gets load for $3.00 pm. Gives to Carrier ( themselves) for $2.00 a mile. O/O Leased to Carrier hauls it for 85% of $2.00.ChevyCam, tommymonza, blairandgretchen and 3 others Thank this.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if something shady is going on. I can barely understand my dispatcher. He sent me a screenshot of a promising load from his cell phone the other day, and it was 6pm on his phone. It was 10am in Texas.......blairandgretchen and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Sounds like your figuring it all out pretty quickly. Dispatch Service? I guess if they’re giving you good rates, and keeping you busy, they’re worth something. But the lies, and having one extra link in the communication chain, is already causing problems. Best thing about having your Own #s, is not dealing with Dispatch Shenanigans. Bad enough when a Brokers nervous, and bugging you. Add a Lying Dispatcher, and everything gets screwed up. Brokers would rather deal directly with you anyway. “ I’m the Owner, and the Driver on this Load, don’t hesitate to call Me, if you have any questions” They Love that stuff, then hope they don’t call, Lol.

Sounds like he’s really on the ball. Well, it’s all a Learning process. They’re serving a purpose. Maybe they have good freight. But I don’t think you need them. Better to establish your Company name directly with Brokers, and/ or Shippers. Pretty soon they’ll all know you. Good Luck.blairandgretchen and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Hahahahaaahhhaaaa breathes Aaaahahhaaaaahahhaaaa!!!!! ....yeah, I need to get the heck away from these guys.
I wasn't sure about contacting the broker directly like that, if it was bad etiquette, or against the rules, or maybe even some sort of contract violation. Thanks for that info.blairandgretchen and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
That’s a broker, not a dispatcher.
A dispatcher assigns the loads to you, in this case this is all brokerage service.
You shouldn’t be paying anything, they own the load, not you.
If you want a dispatcher, then you hire one, they work with brokers on your behalf and you pay them after you are paid.blairandgretchen, Dino soar, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
So does it sound like they're double brokering?

Getting loads from a load board requires TIME which isn't an infinite commodity. Not to mention you'll need a printer and all the bells and whistles to manage it from the truck. I've done it and lots of O/Os do it and make money. But experience is a major thing that you need in this business because not all brokers are honest. Having said all that there are some brokers that can and do run what they call dedicated trucks that they depend on to load every week try to find a few of them. So good luck.joseph1853, blairandgretchen, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this.
