Sadly, the Doswell All-American is long gone.

My fave menu item was the "Rebel Yell Bar-B-Cue".

Each of the All-Americans had it, but Doswell had the best sauce. Tangy with a touch of heat. The Pennsy All-Americans made it too sweet, IMO.

I was last there around 1998. I believe it closed around 2000 or so. I saw the property for sale online back then, don't know what happened to it.

It's probably overflow parking for Kings Dominion......

Got ya! I mean, these services on the turnpikes are pretty nice, well thought out idea. I’ve appreciated it that they built some.
In other countries there’s nothing like you got here in America.

Wow thanks that's good to no! I wont use them any more.
Because I've been parking day and night, over nights, and sometimes left truck for weekend at maryland, deleware, new jersey, Conn, ma, NJ, vt, and Maine service plazas for almost 30 years.
Guess I've just been lucky, although once back in 2009 NJ trooper woke me up and told me I can't idle.

It's still a operating truck stop with lots of parking. Foreigners bought it a few years back so it's not the same, but still reliable parking at 2 am. My guess is they want Kings Dominion to buy it and its the only reason it's still in operation. It's a shame. But yeah, headed North on 95 in the late late nite when you know the 104 will be impossible it's still a reliable, and for me, a pleasant stop.

It was open after that cause I use to stay there 2000-2002.Closed for idk but reopened at some point although it’s a dive now at least a couple of years ago when I stopped there.Restaurant was closed and half the parking lot is blocked off.
