If you were a student, would you prefer to be shown how to hustle and make money or where the best locations for rose sniffing? Not admonishing breaking the rules, btw.
Rest breaks

How come "how to make money" is = do not pee or stretch yourself, because you will loose like 10 minutes and will not make any money?? Come on, this is stupid, you can stop when you want to stop, just make sure you will arive on time for the delivery
As for the rules...it is good to live by the rules, but not always, not at any price... -
My pee is never that dark I would probably have to have myself checked out or drink a lot more water.
Good try though!
Nice thinking! -
Honestly...I would rather take 3 15 minute breaks instead of 1 30 minute break per 11 hours of driving. I just find it too uncomfortable to stay in the seat for 7.5-8 hours at a stretch. I went through the same issues with my trainer and finally told him that he needed to stop so I could use the bathroom or I would simply relieve myself on his bunk "by mistake" because the truck was moving.

"Learn to walk before you run" comes to mind. -
Doubtful

Ah well, I guess I will never get to smell roses or be a millionaire...I can live with that.

Yes my trainer put it pretty much the same way. Said all the "tricks" he was showing me was so i can learn how to make money on the industry. i didnt sign up nor ask for "tricks" i dont mind being shown them and maybe even use them if (I) choose to. A well respected boss of mine in the military once said "if your doing what your supposed to be doing when your supposed to be doing it you will get along fine in life" those words have worked for me so far.
BTW got off that trainers truck last night. His new student was in the yard waiting. He looked genuinely concerned. Wish I could have spoken to him to remind him to protect his CDL.
I got on new trainers truck today (only my 2nd trainer and hopefully last)...we discussed the biggest concerns I had with last trainer. His insight was inline with the consensus of replies here. Above all safety first. I think the remainder of training will go by smoothly. Kind of sucks to find out that the whole time the last trainer was "observing" he either wasnt logging the "observe" hours or he edited them to make up hours on his 70 coz I have only 3 total hours of trainer observe time in three weeks OTR....that screwed over myself and the new trainer who has to makeup those observe hours.Last edited: Oct 10, 2015
