Ummm, Redd, WCP was being politically correct. He was trying to avoid the attention of the witchhunters who would see you burn at the stake for being able to truck. Dont you know by now that the 21st century, soft and effeminate, skin-flut playing, sleep cycle believing, wait-for-bigbrother-to-say-that-its-ok-to-piss-and-how-many-shakes-to-do-so-as-to-not-upset-TipperGore-by-leaving-that-last-drop-in-your-shorts, cant think for himself, "Oh God I live in fear!", spineless "professional drivers believe that the maximum that anyone can drive safely is 500 miles every 48 hours.
WCP was on the edge with his 700 mile comment.:biggrin_25522:

haha, this never happened to me quite this bad before, but...I was at the TA in Porter, IN, and I got there early, was looking for a place to back into, and wow, found the last pull through in the truckstop!

I get parked, set my brakes, shut down my engine (i have an apu), and then I notice...oh no, im parked next to a reefer. After a few minutes i start noticing how LOUD that reefer is. It was an owner op with an old reefer with a bad muffler. OMG.

Slept just fine though, until my POS APU stalled out and i woke up exposed to the 25 degree cold. then i fired the apu up on the highest heat setting possible, then woke up again, thought i was in florida in the summer....truck was about 120 F..LOL.

I parked next to a Carrier dealership in canada one night. APU ran PERFECTLY. never ran better than it did that night. I was gonna take it there too!

Not impressed at all...but it is legally "possible" to get 750 miles in 24 hours even in CA, OR, and WA...do it every week BTW.

And out in the speed zones (midwest), if you average 71, fuel the day before, you can legally get 994 in 24 hours.

good efficient management of log, prepass, and bladder control, ... the wondeers of a Professional seasoned driver!:biggrin_25514:

My daughter has been a violinist for a long time.[IMG]
The first few months are a killer. I told her to try a hacksaw blade when she first started. Now she plays well, but when you go to a school concert, you hear the new kids that are learning, but it is only briefly. Not like at home where it seems like an eternity. Maybe that is why I was a OTR driver...:biggrin_25523:

Actually, you're wrong. It's legal to get 910 miles in 24 hours in most states. That's 65mph for 14 hours with a 10 hour break in the middle. Yup. Of course, in the real world, i'd have to stop atleast twice to pee, and at some point i'd get hungry, and theres gonna be traffic...hehe...
