"stay off the grass" - sounds like a general bullet magnet.. er I mean Army / Marine thing. In the Navy, they tell you not to touch the shiny stuff while you're in bootcamp.

So, basically what you'd tell a child. Fair enough.

Will you stay with the company you drive for now, after you move to Tulsa?

I went through enlisted aircrew training in Milton. Received my Wings of Gold in Hueys. That was a long time ago when many of the Hueys were on loan from the Army in Ft. Rucker.

We are in very similar circumstances. I am also retired military (29 years) and am single with no kids or ties. I entered this line of work because I am a good fit for the OTR lifestyle and to take advantage of my GI Bill benefits. VA paid for my trucking school and I am working for a good company (Jim Palmer Trucking - Missoula MT) that has a VA OJT Apprenticeship Program plus does Tuition Reimbursement for my school. I am also looking to go the O/O route but I am going to get 8-12 months of experience to learn more about the industry before making the transition from company driver.

Roehl and May Trucking were also companies I was looking at. They are Veteran friendly and both also have the VA OJT Apprenticeship Program.

No good company gives a crap about what age your truck is.
