Retirement plans recommendations for truckers?

NOBODY "invested" in Bitcoin in 2011. Some people bought it on a lark, some people bought it, speculating it would go up, but INVESTING is something entirely different that tossing money at random things hoping something good will happen.

 

Now crypto ain't worth ####.

 

Bitcoin has been sitting over 30k for a month after news of Blackrocks crypto etf proposal. It's just dropping into the high 29s today. I've actually been waiting on it to not be worth #### so I can buy more lol.

 

They're regulating the #### out of it here in Canada. The whole appeal of it was because the morons in government had no control over it.

 

The guys who kidnapped the 20 something year crypto king in Canada are currently in court .. some lost millions to a kid lol

 

Well, I'm going to have my pension, IRA, 401k and social security to live on, but...I need to be busy, so I think I'll keep selling my carnivorous plants, and tinkering away on computers. Who knows, maybe I'll get a little IT gig in my spare time. I'm learning about containers, firewalls and RSS right now, so... maybe I can be useful.

I was thinking a travel trailer you can pull rather than a mobile home. Not sure about the legality. I suppose it depends on the local zoning laws.

the zoning is different everywhere .

The county my place is in doesn’t allow RV lots , but if you have a hoise or double wide , you can have three RVs .

the next county over in NC allows RV lots , and they rent for more than my doublewide. a private RV lot is $800-900 a month .

 

Set up a retirement account through a broker like Schwab (or use that current rollover IRA) and weekly auto deduct into your account, even if it's only $50 or $100.

Even Warren Buffet said 95% of the population only needs to invest in an S&P 500 Index Fund. I believe in this philosophy and invest in Vanguard 500 Index Fund Admiral Shares in my 401K.

Being 40, don't worry about market fluctuations or corrections. This is dollar-cost averaging. It took me a while to realize the market is always coming back. The government and the FED are always going to prop up the top 1% who own 54% of the stocks, which is why I invested the same amount every week during this last correction.

At 40, you want market downturns. It's like buying a Prime ribeye at A 10-20% discount.
