I am enjoying the Old pictues and only wish i'd of been able to drive during that time. Just to have been a part of trucking in it's heyday would've been Priceless.

 

I was leased to IT for a few years and when Schneider bought them out the company rapidly went to hell and most of us left.

Schneider sucked the life out of the company and the "Heavy Haul" division never really got off the ground for them because the trash that run Schnieder never saw a rate that they couldn't cut....Until they "cutrated" themselves right out of the heavy haul business.

Now we have companies like TMC and Melton to take their turn ####### up everything they touch!

It was a great time to be in this business....

Now trucking is full of weenies that think that the government is the answer to questions that no one but the government is asking!

 

I agree blackw900, some how people have been tricked into believing that the Gov't is the answer................even when there ain't no question.

The 11 axle steel train......don't see too many of those anymore.

 

John great idea for a thread when I get home this weekend I am going get out Dads old photo album. He retired in 2003 after 34 years of flatbeding should be able to find some good pictures.
