Again, my thanks to all for the tips. I'll keep looking for one of those "specialized" jobs. I went to Werner for the first day of orientation yesterday. Basically, they put me in the same category as drivers fresh out of school. So I told them (VERY politely) "thanks, but no thanks". Did not go back for day 2.

No shortening of the 140 hours, regardless of how well I could drive. (Just for reference, I'm a commercial pilot. Went 28 years without touching the controls of an airplane. Then got in a plane and flew off perfectly; even the landings; guess it's like riding a bicycle). 'Course I know that NONE of that matters; safety and insurance dictate (correctly) the rules.

Further, they regard you as a team driver, and you get to work on your 140 hours maybe as few as 3-4 hours per day (while the trainer gets his full 10-11). 'Could have wound up taking as much as 6-8 weeks. No thanks. My original road training with Schneider back in '03 were the worst three weeks of my life!!!!!
