So 2 years ago I posted about a 15over ticket i recieved. The company i was working for allowed me to continue working until the appeal went through. Well appeal went through and not in my favor. So I return with the same question. The ticket is 2 yrs and 1 month old and is the only thing on my record for the last 20 years. Is there a option outside Western Express? I have since moved to Austin TX. And have been employed with the same company for the last 2 years and 3 months. In the time I've been with them I've run a little over 315,000 miles so I'm not afraid to run

VER-RY BAD CDL job market right now.

If you still want OTR....
Since your problem is insurance - related, you might give the self-insured carriers a try:
- Werner
- Swift
- Knight
- Schneider
.of late.
Also: try National Carriers.

I don't know what Walmart DC's are near you in Austin or if they're currently hiring but hanging in there at your current job 9 more months that violation will be 3 years old. You'll meet their minimum requirements for a driver then. It'll be a lot better job than any of those other megas.

Considering what comes through here for applicants these days, I'd say you have an excellent chance at getting rehired. Heck, companies are so strapped, they are taking felons, ex-druggies, guys like Chinatown
and Lord knows who else, something completely taboo years ago. A mere speeding ticket? Pfft, I'd hire you in a minute. Kidding on Chinatown, if he isn't too busy with health updates, he'll point you in the right direction Good luck.

Look for a local job. Usually their insurance providers are not as stringent as interstate carriers.

Everyone has tightened up the hiring. Drivers have no room for error anymore. If you really want to find a good job, you'll need seat time. Any company that gives you a yes, take it until that ticket falls off. It may not be the best job in the industry, but it's better than nothing though.

Pull up Google maps and search "trucking companies" with your area pulled up. Guarantee some company will take you if you just start calling around the area. It really is that easy with a CDL. If that job sucks, look around some more.
