So I started my authority 4 months ago, but am still leased on to a carrier. Decided with the impending doom of the cyclic trucking industry slowdown to “voluntarily revoke” (put on hold) my authority until the next explosion of freight (LOL). I was power only and this will give me more time to buy a soon-to-be cheap trailer.

Wondering if there is a way in TX to keep my appotioned license plate without paying minimum $750 month insurance payment. Thought about just bobtail insurance, but was told, nope not on apportion plate. Anyone got an idea? Thanks to everyone sharing the wisdom.

This guy has been a member of Truckers Report since 2018 and has 200 messages, and instead of creating his own thread, just hijacks this thread with no relevant info to the original post. Why don’t the MODs stop this crap? Every post someone asks for help, and then 2 drivers hijack it with nonsense. What a shame, this site used to be so valuable. But then again, we will probably be saying that same thing about America.

Two totally different things, You don’t need authority for apportioned plates, all you need is insurance and ifta for them

Can’t you use the carrier’s usdot number and insurance that your working for to keep your plates….. the first and last page of the lease is all they usually ask for…….

Yes, you are absolutely correct! So long story short, I went to TX DMV after revoking my authority and cancelling my insurance, and explained I’m still leased to a company with their insurance. After dealing with my company insurance lady and DMV lady not knowing what I could do, I called Progressive. Smart lady at Progressive puts my on $600 a year (similar to bobtail) insurance with 50 mile radius, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY will not report to TX an absence of coverage. But your right, i could have just given DMV my carrier Certificate of Insurance, but when I mentioned that to my company, they literally didn’t know what that Cert was. Really appreciate the responses guys, sorry about the frustration.

You hate when others help each other? You wish I take all credit and take control as if to make you my slave.

You’re an absolute fool. I don’t get mad at fools like you, I just thank God everyday that I’m not one also. I pity your family.

“Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

I am ok with you rejecting me and lack of ability to see how I am helping someone who obviously has a far different perspective than yourself. I love you too
