I just took a shower at TA. Took less a minute on the kiosk. Ten minutes in and out. Two bath towels, a floor towel, a hand towel, and a wash cloth is all standard.

 

Those rib sandwiches with the pickles! Love them things! have you tried their Philly cheesesteak sandwiches? Those things are the BOMB! Love Speedway, best rewards program going, bar none.

 

Yeah those ones! Refreshing change from other truck stop food!

 

Speedway is my favorite stop, and normally quite a bit cheaper than the big chains. Today fuel was $2.99 at Speedway, TA was $3.35 just across the street up by Saginaw today. What a rip off TA is, free shower or not. Buy 150 gallons at Speedway vs TA, and you save $53! How many showers is that?

 

It's a shame that there isn't more of them and bigger. They would make a killing!Whenever I see one I stop.

 

I run primarily up here in Michigan, there is one over in Eagle MI, just west of Lansing, I live at that Speedway. Flying J is down the street, but always full. I have dropped my trailer at Speedway and bobtailed down there for a shower more than a few times.

Oh, they have BEER! LOL! A little Trucker Path humor there. I don't drink when I am out here as I am always close to home. Sipping a Heineken right now... At the house.

 

The average truck filling at TAs don't pay that pump price. Comdata and EFS both operate a fuel network. It's possible that TA actual price for some may meet that speedway price or actually beat it.This is one reason most carriers dictate where a driver fuels and how much they get.

 

I know that, and I get a discount with my Camdata card too... But, it is cheaper to use either my Comdata card or Visa at the Speedway. We only have a few owner operators where I am leased, under ten. No big and beautiful discount for us. And, I prefer my diesel straight, not on the rocks.

 

Then by all means buy your fuel at Speedway. However the average carrier will send their drivers to the TA. It is just how these fuel networks work.

 

The best shower you will have is when you get the handicapped showers at any truckstop.
