I didn't go through the Richmond terminal to get my CDL but it's my home terminal and they seem to have plenty of equipment for the number of students. It's all older manual transmission Volvos.

When I took my CDL test three out of the four Swift students passed. Swift gives you more than one try, but not sure how many total.

Manuals are very rare. You'll end up with an older truck if you want a manual.

The east coast reefer terminal is Atlanta. That's probably where your driver leader will be.

I'm dry van and my experience at Swift has been great. Very few complaints. I think a lot of it depends on your driver leader, and I'm lucky to have a very good one.

All the newer trucks are auto.

Test in an manual so you do not have the restriction, but the auto is better in so many ways.
