I think there should be a form of trucking etiquette when a day cab and a sleeper truck simultaneously come into places that cause cluster F.
I feel the sleeper cab should always have the right of way.

i think the day cab should have the right of way, as they are usually in and out faster than a sleeper. also so many times, have i seen a sleeper truck, either a team or solo, and he cannot back up to save his life. THAT in of itself, causes such clusters of confusion and anger.
Lepton1, John B. Hood, MACK E-6 and 6 others Thank this. -
I drive a day cab and I'll always move out of the way or yeild to the guys driving the sleeper cabs.
I give the drivers in the sleepers a lot of respect for maneuvering around in the tight spots that even I struggle with in my day cabLepton1, BoostedTeg, roshea and 3 others Thank this. -
If two trucks want a parking spot what we did in our time is call out our graduation Class A license year.
The oldest license got the spot.
It's not often I got a spot back then. Too new going up against truckers who started in the late 40's 50's and so on. No contest. So I started sleeping away from cities, truckstops etc using tiny out of way rest spots around the east coast. That solved the problem I think for rest of my life.
Going west settled the parking problem for good. No more East coast and NE BS.
We really never worried about little tractor trailer big tractor trailer with one exception OVERSIZED AND HEAVY HAUL. Those boys got all the room they want and needed and then some. I'll get out of the way.austinmike and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
there is only so many hours in a day, you got all day to wait for a sorry arsed driver that cannot back up?Pedigreed Bulldog, Blackshack46, Tb0n3 and 2 others Thank this. -
The answer depends on what you are driving. On days that I was driving a sleeper cab I felt sleeper cabs should have the right of way, but when I was driving a day cab then we all know day cabs should have right of way! But the real question should be is, who has the right of way if you are driving a cabover?

If there is one spot and there are two trucks, it is the prius who should get it.
