hi guys, can anyone help me figure out what could cause my trailer signal to not blink? The lights stay on but my right blinker on the trailer doesnt work. When i turn on my 4 ways, it doesnt work either. My tractor does blink but its the fast blink. I checked the fuses, they all seem intact. Is it grounding thats causing it? I cant seem to find out where it runs to. I dont think its the trailer because the same thing happens when i pull other trailers.
Also, i was pulling a newer amazon trailer 1 out of the 10 that i pulled, the blinker worked but VERY VERY light blinking. I checked all my other lights and they are all working. Could it be my pigtail too? Anyone else have this happen and what did u do to fix it. Thanks for the help in advance.

Did you try another cord?
-
Havent tried a other cord yet. The odd thing is when i bobtail the right signal is still fast blinking
-
Do all your tractor lights work? Check all the right side lights for proper ground.
-
Check voltage on the pigtail, if none on the trailer end then check where it plugs in to the truck, and continuity on the cord itself, work back from there.
-
Plugs and the pins inside the plug can wear out over the years on the tractor.
If you try to spread the pins out wider they will break.
We used to have one that had to be plugged in with a piece of folded over paper jammed in under the plug while it was being plugged up. Without that the right turn signal would never work.
Of course we soon fixed it.

Yes i used to do the exact same thing pluggng a folded piece of paper under so it would make the right signal work. But after a while it didnt do the trick. Whats weird is when i bobtail, all the lights and signals work, except the right signal goes fast. I think the next order is to swap out the plugs.

LEDs or incandescent on the truck? On most vehicles, a faster than normal blink indicates a bad bulb or open circuit.
-
LEDs, all my lights are on just fine. No bulbs are burned out.

What year model truck? You may need a resister on the truck for the fast blinking, but that will not be the trailer problem.
If folded paper was working, then the female end needs replacing, or if an older one spreading the prong may work, IF there is 12 volts there.
