The way they are cracking down on 1099 classification carriers will have to be much more careful than that as far as forced dispatch goes ...many carriers in fact most i have leased to i do as i please as far as scheduling hometime etc if i wanted to dh home then i would what i didnt hear in his story is what is far normal when dealing with o.o if i got a dispatcher that wants something covered that i don,t want to do they find my price and its usually quite high .......yes i worked new years but the load paid an extra 600 on top of a crazy good rate thats how its done if the load wasn,t hot enough to through money around it wasn,t hot enough to fire someone over...,..though even the terminology of firing an ic is questionable

It will be much harder for the IRS to go after companies like JCT because they are running real lease plans. Therefor they have a bona fide leg to stand on in classifying the lease drivers as independent contractors. The Chicago outlaw companies treat employee drivers like independent contractors which is blatantly against the law.

I agree, there is much grey area in these lease plans.

He violated his contract! Even though it was his dm fault, whatever his actions were afterwards breached his contract.

Jct is also not a travel agency, when a truck shows to be headed in to deliver in an area they attempt to have a load ready to keep the truck rolling. As a L/P contractor at JCT you are a part of a larger team.
