Will a hand held manual type rivet gun work on these trailer lights or do I need to purchase one that's battery operated? Had another driver tell me the hand held type wont be strong enough? Home depot sells a nice battery operated one by Milwaukee but its $330... Not really looking to spend that if I dont need to...

If you have good strength in your hands and you use aluminum rivets you should have no problem.
Harbor freight sells a nice air operated rivet gun that works extremely well even with steel rivets.
