RM releases Map Updates???

    The last update I did 2019 changed the GPS satellite settings so it nolonger know the time... as in no it doesn't take 4-12hrs to drive 90 miles on the freeway

    Wondering if anyone has had success with this yet? Haven’t tried recently. Just a little hesitant. I realize I’ll have to do it sooner or later.

    It bombed on me the first time but to be honest I was attempting it on cellular data. It corrupted about 49 files so I had to do a “Repair GPS” and that restored me back to the old maps.

    Second attempt on Wi-Fi worked much better. I did have to “Repair GPS” a second time at some point separate from the update so I’m not sure what caused that.

    So I guess it updated ok and now I’m just dealing with my old hardware random crashes and thinks the battery is dead and has to recharge even though it’s plugged into power 24/7 so not sure why the battery is having such a negative impact. But that’s a separate issue from the Maps Update.

    Go for it. I’m having hardware issues on my unit so that’s complicating issues for me.

    And us real Wi-Fi, if I had just been patient and not attempted it via cellular the first time that to would have made it a bit more smooth.

    I was popping in initially to check out the tablet thread that has been on here what seems like forever to ask about updates and saw this one specific to my device. I am curious if this update will work or will it be like what happened a few years back with the last update, which effectively turned my tnd80 into a $400 paperweight.
    What really galled me then was a tech I was conversing with told me they were aware of the issues with the update affecting the tnd80, but had no fixes. Then proceeded to tell me about the new models.
    This leads me to believe the attitude there is "how are we going to sell these new models if the old ones still work?"

    The update is nice but unless u got access to HIGH speed internet don't do it. The update is so big its breaking due to downloads not finishing...

    Yeah long as its decent speeds it will be fine. If it fails just use to repair on it i had to do that because of the download failed :/
