I still have 3 points on my CSA for 2 little chips on windshield - one less than half a quarter and another even less than that... got level 1 inspection last March and although I challenged FMCSA and DOT removed the violation, I still have to fight with FMCSA to have my points removed.... :biggrin_25510:

I have had many level 1s, have passed all but 1 which was because the shop forgot to set up the brakes after doing a 6 wheel brake job on the trailer just before I left the yard. Did not feel I needed to crawl under the trailer and double check their work. Oh well lesson learned.

My question is why are stickers not given out for every level 1 if you pass????

Just got a level 1 a few weeks ago on highway 71 south of Wadena Minnesota. No violations found. No sticker either. Kinda put me close to being in a bind with my log book at the end of the day though. He was the very first DOT to check the operation of my abs light on the trailer and the tractor. Weird. What is even weirder is that now my abs light on the trailer is on and the shop can't seem to figure out the problem. They have replaced harnesses and sensors etc and the light still comes on. I hope they get it figured out soon or I am going to find another trailer to use as I don't want a violation.

Going out on a limb here, that type of attitude is in part what lead to CSA and the awesome point system.

They do not even put the open sign up. Roving officers go out and select the lucky ones they want to invite to the party.
