That's funny; I got offers from all of the carriers you list plus two companies based out of my area, and 4 other companies. And, I paid 1/3 of what you paid at Roadmasters.

BTW, if you went to either the Orlando, or Tampa Roadmasters facility, all the guys who tested you were certified, as examiners, by one of the instructors at my school.

The debate of which school is better than the other is reduced, IMHO, to this; who pays more and who pays less, and for what.

There are plenty of CDL mills out there that do nothing but rob people out of their money and teach squat. There are schools that promise this and promise that, but always have some caveat to their promises, usually preceded by the operative word "IF."

Bottom line, unless anyone has attended more than one CDL school, the speculation of which school is better is highly biased and subjective. Besides, any truck driving school graduate is going to end up in the same entry-level position, regardless of how much you paid for school, or got educated by your uncle Bubba. Vets don't count, because they aren't entry-level drivers, per se.

My school's total cost is a hair under $2,000.00. I got 320 hrs of instruction, including 1,000 miles of city/highway driving and it was 9 weeks long. I was able to get state-sponsored financial aid that I do not have to repay. Is my school better than Roadmasters? Perhaps. Then again, perhaps not. But, facts are facts and Roadmasters is 3 times more expensive than the school I went.

I graduated December, 2014. I've had to put off going to work due to a delicate family court matter that requires me to stay put until the court rules on my petition, so I haven't driven a truck since graduation. With that in mind, I will challenge any recent graduate of Roadmasters to a pre-trip, basic skills and road skills showdown. Let's see if I drive better than you, or you drive better than me.

OTOH, I called my school two weeks ago to inquire about taking a refresher, which even though is not necessary at this point, I thought would do me good. The school invited me to come by and take a truck for a spin in the driving range, one lap around which is a bit over 2 miles, and practice anything I want, as much as I want, FOR FREE!!!

Maybe Roadmasters will do that as well. Then again, maybe not.
