Another satisfied Safelite customer. I called them last Friday morning about repairing two chips and they came the same Friday afternoon. Good communication and chips look great. Almost unperceivable.
Midnightrider909 Thanks this. -
I made an appointment for this afternoon.baha Thanks this.

All they do is drill a hole around the chip area and then put fillings in. If it’s around the driver side. I don’t like it. I rather have it replaced. But since it’s driver side, go ahead and repair it. I think last time I paid $75.

So a Volvo windshield goes for around 180 installed at a local shop near where I park. The dealer outsources the same job and charges 300.
Once you get 2 or more chips it makes more sense to replace the darn thing 40 per chip is neat half a new windshieldMidnightrider909 Thanks this. -
We are hanging out in Fallbrook and Safelite is coming to us. 180 seems too cheap to be true. Auto windshields cost much more.
-
It was actually cheaper. $175 but I.paid with my bank card and he charged me 5 extra. Use them 2 times already.

You want to get an actual measurement. I think DOT will allow 1/4 of an inch. I personally don’t worry about them if they are under 3/4 of an inch. Yes, obviously illegal. My experience is it won’t grow if it is this small.
If you plan on replacing them, do it at your company’s yard. That is where you can usually find the cheap parts and labor.
I eventually learned that if a gravel, sand, etc. semi truck is passing me and is throwing debris all over the place, it is best to brake slightly and allow them to pass you faster. The only time I have needed to replace a windshield was because of one of these guys passing me and throwing a rock my way. -
It’s about an inch in diameter. I have no idea how it happened. It magically appeared this morning.PE_T Thanks this.

Windshield cost different amouns all across the country. My century I could replace for about $160 In mass. But in OH it was more like $350. the glass guy said he couldnt even but it himself that cheap. But a chip repair in mass was $75 a chip repair in OH $25. I no it doesnt make since, but it is, what it is.
