Nothing in that law, or the other you posted allows speeding.
You must be going faster than other traffic, and you can't imped traffic. That doesn't translate to it being legal to speed in the left hand lane though.

 

I'm not going to argue what is or isn't better, to speed or not in the left hand lane as that's not the question.

The question is @gentleroger claims it's legal to speed in the left hand lane. He has yet to show a single law where that's true though.

I will give you this, you are very good at reading what is isn't there. Mind showing the exact wording that allows one to speed?

The Texas CDL exam has a question that deals with this. (And I know Texas doesn't represent the entire nation) The question is multiple choice, and it asks "when is it legal to travel faster than the posted speed limit?" One choice was, "only when passing" but the correct answer was "never"

Those quotations are used loosely, because I can't remember the exact verbage, but the intent of the message does not change.

If the posted speed was allowed to be legally exceeded, in my mind, the word "limit" would not be added to the sign. The simple addition of that one word pretty much tells me all I need to know.

Of course, I realize that most people in the hammer lane are speeding, and out of courtesy I don't drive in that lane unless I'm willing to roll with them. But I don't believe there's any chance that you could be ticketed for observing posted speed limit signs.

 

You quoted something I said, dismissed it as "pulling taffy" and then went on to basically agree with my quoted post.
