Cupping is a sure sign of alingment and or suspension problems right where the cupping or cutting is occuring.

DO NOT DRIVE THAT DAM THING when she starts eating on her tires dam it. You can totally ruin a good retail tire in about 1000 miles done. Down to the steel belting and BOOM Bomb.

Get it to a proper shop and have them take a look at her as it sits. Dont go changing those cupping or cut tires. Leave em alone. Mechanics need that visual to see and trace the actual problem.

Rockwells do not chatter. Ive had a bunch of them in my life and never a chatter UNLESS something is wrong in alingment or suspension.

I recall one particular international eagle with exactly 1.4 million miles on it. Roadranger 10 speed. Driving that 40 miles from baltimore north on 95 and return on a road trip was memorable. Take about 100 pounds of gears, large and small. Toss it into a steel ice bucket big enough to hold it all. Shake vigorously. That noise is what she did all the way up and all the way back. WHEW.....

The real ##### is the final drive line. You DO NOT want a problem back there. High dollar stuff.

Forward of the transmission could well be even engine mounts, Cab mounts and crankshaft.

Did I scare you today? good. Follow up on that sign. But dont you drive that thing anymore until you get to a shop. You will be horrified at how FAST good tires are no good.

I mean obviously if I'm asking a question then I'm looking for some help, not a poor attempt at humor that offers no help at all. I am lightened up buddy, I just don't have the time for wisecracks, if I did, then that's what I would have asked for. I wasn't aware a grown man needed someone to stick up for him when he sticks his foot in his mouth .... I guess what I'm saying is that if you're not gonna be helpful then why waste either one of our time?

Thank you for your suggestion. I have dealt with cupping of the tires before and you are definitely right, it will chew thru a set of steers super quick. I found a u-joint that is ridiculously loose so I am hoping that is the issue and I hope I'm getting to it before it causes some serious damage ... thanks again for the help

Pardon me, excuse me. If you click on a trouble makers name (Might be me, might be someone else who knows...) you will find a black dialogue box, select ignore and for all intents and purposes that person whoever it is will go away from your computer when you log into the forums.

I do that once in a while to for my own sake, I am combustable and crave violence so to speak but work really hard at being a good boy. And that's my way of quietly taking out difficult situations from time to time. Mods generally clean up the trash really well here.

I thank you again for your encouraging progress on your rig. It makes me joyful to see that trucks get fix proper and ready to run loaded and rolling.

Yeah I have a penchant for conflict sometimes and never seem to shy away from letting someone know they are being an unnecessary juicebag .... it seems that there are quite a few people that treat this like the truck drivers Facebook and circle the waters looking for a laugh at others expense. I must have had assumed too much by thinking this site was for truckers helping other truckers but I guess you can't expect too much from a grown man that has a Nintendo character for a profile picture. Thank you once again for your helpful suggestions and your wishes for my prosperity... it is appreciated

Now now. We do help one another. But in fine trucker fashion some of the better ones give each other a hard time first. We had one show up a couple months ago with a real basic issue and the old ones tore him up. While helping him LOL. You had to be there.

Ive fired a couple both barrels once or twice and tell off some what for. Ultimately the Mods toss me and that's the end of that.

One very consistent theme of this whole internet thing dove tails properly with real life in trucking or wherer. this.. this yappying from a 120 pound nothing biting on the heel of the boot. bite bite bite, yap yap yap.

I pray I never know what the Lord was thiking giving these little ones a big heart and a mouth to back it up. Ugh...

Can you post pictures of the u joint, before and after? It would be helpful for those that read this thread in the future to see what to look for. Let us know if that resolves the problem.

Brother, my code in life is to have respect for everyone I come across and it don't bother me one bit to take a wisecrack if it comes with a laugh, but by golly it should also come with the respect of offering the help I ask for to go with that laugh. Hell I've done a lot of silly things in life just so people could have a good laugh, but I think respect should be common place amongst men. I definitely don't mind takin some #### from a helpful old head while he gives me some helpful advice, but takin pop shots from amateurs is not within my scope. All the helpful comments have my full respect and gratitude
