Avoid grocery warehouses. Seriously.. Those places shouldn't get away with the abuse they put us through. Between outrageous lumper fees and waiting for hours and hours ruining your whole day, you'll never make money dealing with those clowns on a daily basis. I don't know how the reefer drivers do it..

Sure, say you're taking a 30 minute break and you decide it costs less money to do it in the sleeper. You aren't required to do an inspection so just start driving and presto change-o the log takes care of its self.

I had that happen at a Walmart DC. I had enough time to get to the TS that was nearby if they unloaded me in 2 hours. Six hours later when they finished, I moved from the dock and parked. They kept harassing me to leave, but I wouldn't do it. They threatened to call the police and I said, I wish you would, then we can straighten this out. After 9 hours I did a very thorough pre-trip, then crawled to the gate in 1st and got there just as my 10 hours was up.

I will not sacrifice my CDL for any customer or company. The company can fire me if they want for any reason, but my CDL is not for sale.

That's why I'm not doing reefer this time. I did that the first time I worked for Roehl and spent a lot of time doing nothing.

i made it to Cottage grove yard with 4 min. Farthest I could go. Swung thru the pilot for quick check, but at 2230 it was wasted effort.

I gave up trying to get detention. Even when i did everything by the book i still got cheated. There came a point where any detention situation I just refused to put the hours on the bills which meant Roehl couldn't collect either. If they were gonna cheat me anyway, why help them get paid?

Many companies have automatic detention pay. No hoops to jump through. Roehl put the "hoops" in place just so they could steal from drivers. The longer I'm away from there and see how other companies operate the more I realize just how much Roehl steals from drivers.

I quit worrying about getting cheated out of detention and was happier for it. If I'm not getting paid, you're not either.

Having worked at factory that made paper for food industry, meat packing paper, to baking sheets, and the tissue at donut shops. Trucking companies typically charged around $100 an hour after 2 hours. Do the math.

Leaving in the morning and was told to get chains. Think I'll spend the night in the truck tonight.
