Honestly don't even know if cops involved. Didn't get a whole lot of info on it. Not even sure on bridge height, just what I heard. You know how it is. I just know for fact he came back, saw that. And driver told me he was re routed himself. I didn't want to ask too many questions, him being new and all.
Finally made it home. I was getting pretty perturbed with weekend support. They wanted me to take a load of scrap paper to Green Bay instead of dropping it in the terminal. Not that big of a deal, just wasting my home time. Then they decided I should take an empty back to the terminal and then go back out and pick up a broken trailer at another customer. I said no, but that didn't get me very far. The way I see it , if I'm long past my expected home time, the instant my wheels cross the gate I'm parking, scanning my bills and going home. I didn't do that though. Since they didn't have an empty at the first customer, I argued on the QC while eating a sandwich and then bobtailed to the broken trailer and brought it home. I think this will be the shortest home time I've ever had.
The rare times i get home and i have like 4 or 5 hours still on my clock, I always crack open a adult beverage. So if my phone rings and they ask me to do one more thing i can say nope cant. Or if i park at the drop yard i quickly get in my car that is there and bail as fast as possible.
I forgot to go look at that one. Although I had my fill of seeing wrecks at Marten. Marten likes to publicize every wrecked truck with pictures of the truck and driver. They even had one sitting in the HQ yard in Mondovi with signs on it explaining how the driver rolled it on an exit and died. Kind of creepy.
Heh, pictures of the deceased driver also? Eeeww. Creepy isn't strong enough to describe it. Makes you think about it though.
I'm not sure about that one but I saw several with the driver's picture badge posted next to the crash pictures. They would give the driver's full name and town of residence.
You do realize that's a whole 2 miles per hour right? 20 miles over 10 hours. I just set the cruise and forget it. I'd get tired of mashing the throttle for a whole 10 hour day.
Sat at the receiver all day, but at least got to watch football, including a beat down by my Packers of the Queens. Hopefully something good tomorrow.
