I think I'm safe to say my bunk heater is not a problem. Perhaps there was just too much exhaust build up from driving all day and then going to sleep right away.

Last night I aired the cab out for quite a while with door and windows open, not just windows. There was also a nice breeze. I turned the heater on right before I went to sleep and did not have any issues this morning.

So I think I'll just report the engine exhaust issue when I take it home.

Yeah, it pays to carry about $60 in cash for those situations. There is an ATM at the truck stop just before you cross the bridge (going south) but it charges a fee of course. (You do know that you'll be reimbursed for the toll, right? Just scan the receipt in along with your trip report.)

Edit: FWIW, there are other toll situations where you have to pay cash: Kansas Turnpike and some roads in Oklahoma come to mind. Fortunately, going across the Ambassador Bridge at Detroit-Windsor, the little "SirIt" sticker you probably have on your windshield pays that toll for you.

Yea I usually carry cash for those situations. Also knew I got reimbursed, just hate to pay it out of my pocket. Cash is food money and I hate, hate paying ATM fees.

KF7WTV, technoroom and Beedubyah Thank this.

Camping out in Neenah for the night. Off to Ohio tomorrow with a relay, then home! Wanted to get a run in, but it's raining again! Imagine that! Also was informed I'm getting a new FM again. Sucks. Always fear things won't be as good as it was with my old one. They really want me to be a trainer.

Got a new FM today as well...she works 53 dedicated drivers out of Granite City & Winchester. Sounds good...home weekends for 48 hrs and a reset. Thought I'd have less miles on dedicated than national, but getting 50/day more. 90% D&H makes a difference. Asked me again about training, said they'd work it into my schedule on dedicated. Not feeling it...sounds like they can't get enough trainers. I'm waiting for them to raise the pay. :smt115

Missing 6 hrs of detention pay this week, called to inquire, it'll be added next week...they didn't know why it wasn't included. Hmm

At the mother ship. Dropped off the dumb reefer. No idea what the next plan is, but I grabed a empty step in hopes that its back to flats or step.

Well, since he asked. Here goes. Got into Gary to do my CQT and my Safety Meeting. Got out on the test lot, told me what to do, and I didn't even bat an eye. I threaded the needle between the trailer and curb, went on to the offset back, and performed that as well. In fact, upon the second GOAL, the tester informed me he was on the way to email FM about my passing. Told me to finish maneuver and left. Finished and pulled toward fuel islands. Fueled up and parked. Heck, did the whole test with my loaded trailer. Was very authentic that way.

Went in, got through the safety meeting and went to talk to FM. Saw her, signed my disciplinary action letter and listened to a lecture. She said, sorry for the canned style lecture, but has to be done. Told her, sorry I let her/company down and we moved on. Was informed 90 days for my safety miles penny to return (never got it anyway--newbie curse), Automatic down quarter, and 2 more strikes before serious corrective action takes place.

Hoping quarter ended soon, so I can move on to new quarter.

Work week included running through Iowa from Gary, then up to Minnesota, and back to Wisconsin. Got trapped in Wisconsin for remainder of week. Hit the mothership twice with 2 days on each load. 100 miles and 150 respectively. Since so much time, had them fix passenger side mirror. They seemed starved for work. Only mentioned work and suddenly it's fixed. They demanded to take pics of hood and bumper and plan on fixing the front end damage in the next two weeks.

On my home trip, got sent to the U.P., which was the first time I was there in my life as a Michigander. Hit Escanaba and Iron Mt. Back through Wisconsin and Gary on way home. Hit Coldwater Walmart DC to go home. Interesting week.
