I was already OOR anyway, as they sent me a change of plans while I was driving. I heard relay to ROETO Oak Creek, so I did. I wasn't going to stop and wait for a new route plan when I already knew the way.

Backed in to the dock and all tucked in for the night at consignee in Waukesha, WI. In the morning they can wake me up and hand me my bills.

That was some pretty nasty stuff. I almost pulled the pin a few times but it always looked like it was letting up every time I was near a place to park and then a big gust would make me wish I had stopped. I thought for sure when I got on I-43 that the wind would be at my back but it seemed to change as I went and was still mostly a cross wind.
I got really good MPG though, driving across Iowa, in the 8's. I didn't even notice the wind hardly because it was straight at my back. When I made a rest stop I thought I was going to blow away. -
Yeah, lots of damage on the news. Seen some trucks got tossed around.

milk hauler, for my side job....shhh. Don't tell anyone, we we're delivering to Prairie Farms in Peoria, 2 loads today and they came in late, should have both been out of there early but my first truck wasn't empty until 11.

Someone on the CB said that a few trucks blew over at a truck stop in IL but I didn't catch which one.
As soon as I made the cloverleaf from 88 to 39 I could feel the shift and then saw the first truck. It was a northbound on its right side and just a few hundred yards away a southbound one laying on the drive side. One guy started calling out on the CB when he saw the first truck something like, "looks like someone was being stupid." But it seemed strange to me that it was on its side on a straight stretch of road with no evidence of any other vehicles involved (thankfully).
Just as I grabbed the mic and said that it may have been wind we saw the other truck. Two trucks going opposite directions both on their sides at the same interchange and both on the East side of their lane of travel. The evidence was starting to become pretty obvious and then #3 and a couple of miles later #4. Got stuck waiting on #4 to get righted and towed. -
Well at least they are safe.Meltom Thanks this.

It's still pretty windy here in Waukesha. Even backed in tight to the dock and next to another truck this truck is really swaying.
