close both window, and cab curtains, it does help. I also have a low temp rated sleeping bag in winter. Plus, just in case a few sweatshirts for layers if needed, mostly for emergency stuck situations.

Can someone post any follow up details? I recognize that truck # and am concerned for those involved. It looks grim for the driver under the Roehl truck. I hope there were no passengers.

My understanding is there were no fatalities in this wreck, while there were some in other crashes in the area. No confirmation though.

    That makes me sick.

In addition to slippery conditions I'm sure there was lower visibility and this is the number one thing that both four wheelers AND truckers don't take into consideration enough. If you can't see 7 seconds ahead, to a stationary object, you are driving too fast (this assumes dry conditions). At least 12 seconds for snow and plans to take the ditch if necessary to avoid killing someone. If you can't do that then don't drive.

I didn't know at the time, but weekend dispatch was giving me a bunch of grief last night when I was leaving Gary about 1700. I wasn't going through Milwaukee, but up 90. I can understand why now. First time I can understand them.
