I almost went over as well. Even skipped my fuel stop, as there was no place to park. Went up the road to the Ambest in Kittery, ME.

Lost a couple hours between the Tappan Zee bridge in NY and the I-91/I-95 split in CT and to top that off I got bit by the stupid 30 minute break. Otherwise I would have made it to the TA in Greenland, NH with plenty of time to spare and no 30 minute break.

I've already put it in the shop twice for this. Sounds like they're not going to change anything. So lights it is.

But you need that 30 min break, otherwise you'll crash, and kill a bus full of nuns, then who'll take care of the orphans?

    DsquareD and Projektf350 Thank this.

Weird thing is when you're only a few minutes away and then have to take a 30 minute break, all it does is detain you. As with most things mandated by the gubment, it's just another obstacle standing in the way of common sense.

For instance, today I had a 2 hour sleeper berth break at the shipper, why do I need to take another 30 minute break right before landing at my end of day stopping point?

I had the same issue. First question I was asked was if I smoked during my RDTC first phone call session. It seemed to me that most of the trainers smoked. I was a smoker during my younger years and would have gladly taken it back up for 11 days if the trainer was of a higher caliber.

First buy a Garmin windshield suction cup mount with dashboard mounting disc. Then get a couple gallons of JB Weld...

OK, just kidding about the JB Weld.

The dashboard mounting disc has double sided tape on it. However, it needs a really clean surface to stick to. I tried cleaning a spot with some cleaning solution, but it fell off. I think it has to be pure alcohol to get it clean enough. So next, I popped out one of the hole covers in the dash and washed several times with soap and water. Stuck the disc on it and it held, but the cover wanted to fall out, so I had to shim the little clips that hold it in.

Then just stick the windshield mount to the disc.
