Good old Mogadore. Where it all started for me. I will have to ask the yard guy if Roehl is ever going to ever to get a bigger yard for that area because that place is just way to small. I would come in during the holidays and could never find a spot for my trailer because bozos would just put them anywhere. Then there would be like 25 tractors in there at the same time. I know we didn't have that many Drivers out of there. Lol!
-
I pulled in there for a relay once and we ended up having to back in off the street and drop one trailer at the gate and drop the other in the street because they were so cluster F'ed in the yard you couldn't get in far enough and no space to turn around.

Guess I've been lucky there. Never had an issue. Yeah it's small, but I've never had any problems.
-
Yeah, Ive been there a few times... Sometimes its not so bad at all.

there is a Walmart down a few exits for parking if needed. seems like Roehl is quite solvent and could have grabbed some land in the recession.
-
F walmart I avoid them whenever possible.
wyldhorses Thanks this. -
Heh, this brings to mind one of the worst experiences I had in the last couple months. I was loading in Houston mid-afternoon and got to my fuel stop (a Flying J in north-central Houston), where I was intending to park for the night, at around 5:15. I have never seen a truck stop so jam-packed full; it was so bad that there was barely room for trucks to circle around looking for (non-existent) spots. It was clear that there was no way I was going to be able to park there for the night. Called fleet manager for advice, he suggested asking inside if there were any Walmarts around. Turns out there was one a few miles away.
I had about 50 minutes left on my 14-hour clock, so headed up I-45 and got to the Walmart which was down a side road a couple miles. Shut down with 10 minutes left on my 14 and breathed a sigh of relief....until a security guard drove up to the truck and said "I hope you aren't planning on parking here for the night!" Went inside to ask the manager for permission, and was told that starting January 1st 2014, all Walmarts nationwide were no longer allowing overnight parking on their property and that I would be towed if I didn't move the truck.
Got down the street a few blocks to a semi-abandoned shopping center and parked there for the night. Didn't get much sleep, as I was afraid I'd either be towed in the middle of the night or someone might try to mess with the load.
I can't blame Walmart I guess; if drivers are leaving garbage and pee-bottles in the parking lot I'd not want them there either. It's still too bad though.Last edited: Feb 11, 2014
Projektf350 and jeepnut_nh Thank this. -
I'll starve before I spend one penny on walmart groceries or all their other crap too. One of the most evil dirty corrupt companies in history.

I love Wal Mart. I park there when possible and because they are driver friendly I spend most of my "on the road money" there.jeepnut_nh Thanks this.
