Camped out at the terminal in Appleton once again, waiting for a load from Green Bay to Elwood in the morning.

Whats this about a meteor shower tonight?

 

I always confirm the preplan. It's my FM. Sometimes it feels like I'm pulling teeth to get him to dispatch the load.. The other day I delivered right outside Appleton was sent a message after my empty call to go to the terminal a relay load will be there in a few minutes for you. Get to the terminal drop my empty and sit and wait a bit. Send a message in I'm at the terminal no response. Little while later I go inside and find the paperwork for the load. Send another message in got the bills and hooking to the trailer can you dispatch it for me now.. No response still. I see a fm outside smoking and go and ask her if she can dispatch the load for me and she does. I take off get to 41 and finally get a message from him "You got your info?" Nice eh? Lol Other than that he's great, just frustrating as hell wasting time like that.

 

Busy day today. Went from Rockford il to Mason city, IA to roeto today. 591 miles, one delivery and arrived here with 1 minute of drive time remaining. Talk about cutting it close. They have me hooking to a curtain side for the weekend. Kinda looking forward to it. Gonna get some sleep and catch the meteor shower tonight. They have me stopping at gary for fuel tomorrow. Gonna take my break there and try to time it for lunch time to try and meet dragonfly.

Rolling prairie service plaza on the Indiana toll road. Headed to unload in lordstown tomorrow afternoon then home. Busy first week on my own been to ellenwood Appleton marshfield oak creek and gary twice then to Mogadore tomorrow to park the truck.

There were quite a bite of loaded flats at gary and oak creek today and Appleton last night too.

 

Home until Tue after oral surgery today (laughing gas is great) to remove a tooth I cracked in half.
Good for Irish. He wasn't always getting home when he wanted anyway.
I'm keeping an eye open for local as well but the dedicated account has been better than national in most measures like hometime, miles, % D&H's, net $'s, downtime...so not in a hurry to leave.
Considering training or leasing as possibilities but still running numbers and looking around.
