Well. I made it back to the states. Hit an hours worth of traffic jam coming out of Detroit. Decided to stop here at the flying j in Toledo for the night and set off early for home tomorrow. Then set off early Monday morning to go deliver my load and then back home for my home time.

Dark Squall and goblue Thank this.

Ds I swear I had a different planner once, I can tell in a heartbeat and I did not like that either. I've been fortunate not to hit anything yet but if I did I would just have to put it behind me.

MTS (martin) is out of Gr. They have some interesting stuff but pay .34 I think..home time nice but I think its all dedicated.

Crete pays nice but u gotta stay out long. Roehl pays well for me and I generally like the people and company. I haven't had any reason to look elsewhere. I have great FM's too.

You're a good driver, don't put yourself out too fast. Good weeks, bad weeks, take a look at the average.

Words of advice for canada(for Atlas tube in harrow, Ontario at least). Get loaded, roll out the plastic over the load, throw 2 or 3 straps and move to the tarp station. Then get your paps stuff set up and fax it to the broker. Then message you fm via qc asking what they need for your ace manifest. Send them the info. Then strap and tarp your load. By the time you're done, your ace should be processed and faxed to the shipping office... If you're lucky.

DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT YOUR ACE OR YOU WILL SUFFER!!!

True... However, once you figure it out, it's an easy extra $50. Plus, I know some other companies use canada eligibility as part of a raise potential. Also, canada loads tend to pay more for those who make %

Yea Ginger, they had like a 5 mile stretch down to one lane on the south side. Looked bad.

GB, Ive learned something very important during both bumper hookings.
I am prone to rushing myself, when mistakes set me behind schedule.
The first time, I was late by 1 hour; on account of being told over the phonebook QC to go to wrong first stop. My stops were changed by shipper. Did the damage upon backing into dock at correct location.
    Then this time.

By rights, I should of Preplan Noncommitted the load, on account of appointment being at time dispatched with 3 hours to arrival.

Looks like they wanna give me a repeat week. Got my first pp out of house. 0 margin on it, with tight appointment.
700 miles starting from 0600, arrival 0800 apt. Not a prob, but I need to do pip and cqt in Gary, and this gives me 0 time to do it.

I have been getting a few too many PP with very tight margins as well. My remedy has been to reply with the time I believe I can get the load in safely and reasonably. Once I have done that, I don't worry about it, neither does my FM. There are several instances that lead me to believe that the planners may have their heads up their backside. That is why I decided to send my PP Conf and Load Conf with MY TIME of arrival.

Point to remember - STRESS KILLS! - Don't let the little stuff get you bogged down. Once you have loaded and are ready to roll, take a deep breath, turn up the tunes, relax and slip her into gear and go.

End of day in Tomas. Running late cause Gary yanked me for a quick.fix from fuel island... if had a margin on load woulda been ok.
Plus side, truck got a new bumper.
Just a crack left in fender ;)
    and a pip/cqt to do.
