That's the average I get on relays with scale tickets.
Guess I could decide to be a prick from now on with relays.

Pay all depends on the fleet too. When I was on the Allentown Regional I made almost double what I made being out 2+ weeks national. I was home every weekend too. If your just doing 7/7 then yeah the pay will likely suck. But if you can get on a regional or dedicated you may be better off. They got rid of the Allentown fleet (flowed it in with "NE" cause drivers were making to much money)
As for relays, if the load is heavy I think they should scale it and leave a ticket. I would always leave a ticket with a note with info on my truck/fuel levels. When picking up a relay at a terminal with scale, I would scale right away and judge then if I should add fuel ect. If it was heavy I would contact FM and refuse it right away. As for the light.....I likely would say you were hooked to it and noticed something wrong so you should have it fixed... As the relaying driver I would of just had it fixed or rolled without it. I tried to avoid talking to FM or maintenance at any cost.
I have picked up relays with old bald/rotted tires and would love to beat the ##### out of the relaying driver though.jeepnut_nh Thanks this. -
Trlr was a 61 series, so I tripled check equipment each PT and VCI.
Passed each time. No light out, no cracked bent or missing pieces.
Tires up, brakes good.
Fuel island guy spotted it.
But it was on again when I went back with him to witness.
Probably a bad ground. He didn't write it up, neither did I.
But I was Mr Nice Guy and let other driver know.
So I get chewed out on that, along with arrival time, and last the scale ticket.
I got basically harassed all day by the same FM on that trailer. -
Projektf350 and Dark Squall Thank this.

Would have loved to, but...they were covering my board while my FM had weekend off.
Accidentally got ahold of his, out of Ellenwood.
Didn't get much outta him.
He didn't seem to care about any of it.
(Was trying to get CS to find me an MT, so I could get home.
Bs'd with this guy for a bit, then got an mt)
He actually apologized about my next preplan, said freights been unusually slow and bad in Midwest, for this time of year. -
