The pay scales at the two companies are almost identical and were the two finalists when I chose to start with Con-way as a student graduate last March. Without forced Canada dispatch, I'd still be with Con-way. If Roehl will not require me to go to Canada, I'll seriously consider them again.

Canada is a piece of cake, just a little time consuming! That is, as long as you stay in Ontario. I haven't and won't like it if I have to go to Quebec.

Haven't been to Canada yet. 2nd time I've worked for this company and have had a passport the whole time. Though a few weeks ago my dispatcher asked if I was still restricted from Canada travel. I had to admit that I never have been. Should have went with it and said yeah. :)

I was just looking at being able to go into Canada, I thought I was restricted but now I am not so sure, I will have to make a call on Monday or Tuesday to find out.

I am bored out of my mind. I should have picked a truck stop with more around it for my reset. Too late now!

Question, on the driver scorecard, what are "Late Hours"?

They say they prefer it, but its not hard to get restricted. Lol they say a DUI is enough. Its a felony up there. Ive never had any issues and only sat the very first time. I didn't have the correct paperwork. My fault a little but no one was able to help. 8 hrs at the crossing waiting for the shipper to send me the right stuff... lol
I got to the point of actually liking it because of the extra $$$ for going.

Oh like after 9? Thats weird. Mine must be from all my late day starts on Sundays. Cuz I always send my hours in right away unless I'm leaving home that day.

Ah home sweet home. Home at last. Took 5 hrs to drive what should have taken 4 due to icy conditions on I-86. Three days to drive 700 miles just sucked!!! And having to deliver this load Tuesday morning sucks too.

Its not trucking that is getting to me, but the time away from the kids mostly. I wish I found it as a single guy without ties. I would have really enjoyed it then. Having a family is making this tough.

    Stay safe all!!!
