I'm parked at a closed Home Depot in Beaverdam tonight. On my way to Appleton in the morning to hopefully get my new truck fixed.

Stopped for fuel at the Pilot in Cottage Grove and when I left the check engine light comes on. Then the truck starts to balk, lose power and tach/speedometer sweep, then it resets. So I stopped and check under the hood. Call breakdown and they ask if I can limp it to Appleton since I'm only 90 miles away. Okay, I'll give it a try. Get three miles down the road and it won't let me go over 30 mph without repeating the balking.

I stop and call it in. They send out a road service truck and they changed both fuel filters. This KW has spin on filters and you need a jug of fuel to prime them before installing. I don't have that stuff yet as I haven't been through a terminal or home since I got the truck. He also says that its throwing a code for a bad speed sensor. Says this could also be the culprit of the problem.

I head on down the road and it starts in again after a few miles. Yep, its the speed sensor for sure now. Because of the road side service call, I've run out of time to make the terminal so I will sit till morning.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix at the terminal and they don't send it to the dealer!

Oh and my load planner screwed me out of being home today. I was originally supposed to drop this load at Gary since its not due in Green Bay till the 10th. However, they decided I should take it to Green Bay and pick up a load going to Indiana on Monday. I can take that one through the house they say. I won't be able to get a full 34 hour restart because of this and definitely not now with the breakdown.

My FM is on vacation and I'm positive this is why I got screwed out of my weekend at home. I'm gonna raise holy hell on Monday.

So much for getting a newer more reliable truck. :biggrin_25510:

Delivered this morning at Western Intermodal in Chicago then picked up at wheatland tube. Got in there shortly after 9 and didn't leave until about 6...I think they're getting faster, lol. Now sitting in Gary for the night.

lol have you ever loaded in Sharon, PA? You wouldn't believe it's the same company. They load you usually within 30 minutes of checking in and they put it all on in one shot. 45k of tubing in one lift from this ginormous forklift-tank. I can get in, tarped and out in 90-120 minutes there.

Don't think that I've been there. When I came out of the house this last time I loaded in wheatland, pa and it was real fast there also. They were loading with a crane but these guys were still way faster than chicago. I was planning on spending most of the day there but was out in about 2 hours.

Yeah Sharon is a few miles away from there but Wheatland, PA is fast too though you can't be early for appt, but they at least honor the appt times there.

Enjoying sitting Gary with what seems like half of all the trucks Roehl has on the road. Seriously, there must be over 100 trucks here today. At least I was the only one who wanted to get clean, so I got a quick shower and I have a PP for a relay load going back out to western IA for monday. I wonder when the relay will get here. Probably late tomorrow. :biggrin_25523:

Wow you seem to go almost more than I do (Iowa) and I live there (here lately atleast). I'll hopefully be joining you soon..oh wait better not get my hopes up. Just because I got a load to Indianapolis doesn't mean they will care enough to get me to Gary to get this AC fixed. Had to drive thru New York City today fun fun spent 30-45 minutes parked on the interstate waiting for a accident to be cleaned up off the top deck of the George Washington Bridge...Saw a few trucks take the bottom deck. Kinda wondered what happened to them :biggrin_25524:

KW brokedown on the side of road this morning at 0430. Maintenance sent out a tech from Appleton and still couldn't get it running again. Finally towed at 1130 to Appleton for repairs.

So no going home today either. Looks like I won't be getting this weekend off like I'm supposed to. This means that more than likely I also won't get a 34 restart and run on recap next week.

When my FM is back from vacation on Monday and finds that I'm running on recap all next week, he won't be happy.
