At the TA in Seymour, IN. Headed to London, KY in the morning, then preplan pick up in Louisville and relay to Gary.

Found out today that IL53 in Elwood, IL is closed till the 17th for road construction. The posted Detour is NOT A TRUCK ROUTE. Do not follow that detour. Several drivers have already been ticketed.

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

I like that ta. I was delivering to the Walmart DC there. I got to the ta expecting a 2-3 hour drive, never realizing I was in Seymour until I looked up the DC on Google maps and I was 2.5 minutes away in traffic lmao.

back in Gary for the night...leaving out in the early AM for points east....had a fun eventful day...first my routing was ok until I got north of I 43 and found out US 12 West was closed...so had to backtrack back to 43 to pickup the detour and found my cons....got unloaded...had next preplan to pick up in Madison and relay to Gary...sweet no sweat right...not...US 12 was nice until I got stuck behind a super oversize with a ton of escorts moving at a blazing 1mph as they lifted wires over this monstrosity blocking my forward movement...finally got on a side street and around...Groovy back on track...got to Schoeps right ...oh you need to take your trailer downtown and pick up the last pallet...##### wonderful...the downtown place gives a new meaning to tight...lets just say day cabs have a hard time in this place...got in got the last pallet sweet time to boogie to gary...on the way there I get a call...Oh btw your going to take this load...and we got you paid for the extra stop in Madison...so now the load is a 4 stopper too...wait for it...the Bronx, Brooklyn and Swedesboro NJ...had to trip plan on the fly...I have just enough hours to cover this load and hopefully make it out of Brooklyn as its my last stop...(unfortunately the delivery time is...0800:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25521: thats right boys and girls I have to go to brooklyn during rushhour) talk about popping the NYC cherry....:biggrin_25521::biggrin_25524:

I picked up at the GP in Elwood, IL around noon today. I wonder if I drove the no truck route? Hmmm.

I'm sitting at the Pilot at the 148 on I55 for the night. Ran out of hours at 1300 today. Oh well.

Talk to someone who has been to your consignees in NYC if you can. The Brooklyn/Bronx expressway has alot of low bridge signs, but you can make it under all of them except one. That one you have to get off and run up over the exit and on ramps. As I remember that bridge is just south of the Grand Central Pky. That's if you are headed north out of Brooklyn to the Bronx. I'm assuming your Bronx delivery is in Hunts Point. I used to take a lot of reefer freight there. I always ran Brooklyn first then up to the Bronx, so I don't know about bridges headed the opposite direction.

Like I said, see if you can have your FM hook you up with the last driver who went there or at least a driver who has run it before. I got all screwed up my first time up there. Some how I ended up going the wrong way down a one way street under the Brooklyn Bridge. :biggrin_25513: The NYPD was helpful getting me out, after they let me know what a moron I was for not knowing that the signs that said the clearance was 12'5" was from the 70's and that I could make it under no problem. How was I supposed to know that?

    Anyway, Good Luck!:biggrin_25522:

We came creeping around your truck but it looked like you might be sleeping already when I climbed onto the roof and looked into the sky windows.

I was going to invite you to a celebratory birthday dinner for me at the TA salad bar. lol
