Micro manage fms suck my friend has one and I've dealt with them on the wkends before. I couldn't wait til Monday to get my regular FM in. My FM was a driver for 7 yrs and he's laid back doesn't push the subject too much. More respect than anything if you pick up and deliver on time do your job he leaves me alone. My friend does the same thing but his FM's, one young only knows numbers and what his computer tells him, and the other calls on his days off constantly and sends a lot of messages just basic info that any driver would.know anyway through a qc message, gets micro managed like crazy. I feel.for him and.others that are doing their job and still get basically hassled for a job well done even with the hiccups. I have other issues that I'm not going to bash Roehl for that bug me enough to move on one day myself when the time comes. Still a good company in most aspects I'm just looking for more.

I still think Roehl is a great company overall...its perfect for those starting out...I can't ever say enough good about how well Roehl works with new people....and will continue to sing its praises and recommend them to anyone starting out....I just out grew the company and want a different experience...I like reefers...and I think given more time Roehl Refrigerated will be as big as the flat and van side...its just going through some major growing pains and has a lot of inexperienced people at all levels...(plus its run by Dan Roehl).... once they become more and more experienced and pick up more accounts...I think Roehl's Reefers will make the company bigger dollars than the Van fleet...

I've been with Roehl for 3 years and never had a call from DM wanting me to come in early.
When on the road if I get a message on QC, I ignore until my next break time. If its an emergency QC will alert you with a different signal(family problem etc). All QC systems have that capability.

At the service plaza outside Somerset, PA. I still have 400 miles to go once I come out tonight. Before I forget, I just want to wish everybody that is leaving Roehl best of luck and stay safe out there.

Ah Somerset, I locked my truck keys in the truck there in 2008. Cost $130.00 to get back in the truck.

don't do that unless you have to. wander around the plaza until you see somebody with a truck like yours, then ask if they can see if their key will work your doors. i was at marshfield earlier this week and a student wanted to see inside the new silver trucks. i told him to take the spare key to my truck and go try doors. he found one on the end that it worked for.

i've let random people back into their truck using my key before at various places. there's only a few keys, freightliners and internationals both.

it's worth a check before you spend the money.

At the TA in Dexter, MI set up for 0700 delivery an hour away and then an 0830.

I'm leaving Roehl with no ill feelings whatsoever as they've been good to me. Just time to move onto a smaller company without such a large corporate feel. I think Roehl is trying to become a mega-carrier and I have no desire to be a part of that.

I know I'd leave if I can find someone that don't have a no weapons policy....
