I will say I've noticed a huge change in the way we're treated as flatbed drivers.

I pulled a van the past 4 days and customers treat you like dirt, when I pull a flat, I'm treated with respect and they ask me how I want everything loaded and everything. Its definitely a nicer side. Plus I usually don't have to wait 3 hours to get unloaded.

Well i guess I can officially "check in" now :)

finished orientation in applewood,WI this past monday. I am now officially part of "TeamRoehl"

so now they sent us all home to wait for a trainer, something about a shortage of trainers and a holiday weekend making it harder to set it up. :/

o well, if i dont go out today, OPs says ill have the weekend off, so maybe ill go to the lake :)

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Yeah Roehl is short on trainers. I know one reason is it's not easy sharing that small space with someone.

My last fleet manager asked me if I wanted to be a trainer but having less than a year of experience I didn't feel ready to teach anyone how to do this job when I'm still new myself.

I'll be making my first check-in in a couple weeks. I hit the greyhound shooting me towards Marshfield (well, Tomah) this upcoming Sunday for RDTC.

At the cons in St. Louis. By far the worst backing job I have ever done. It took me an eternity to get it in. :biggrin_25516:So pathetic. It was difficult don't get me wromg but I should have done a better job.

so jeepnut- I'm headed to Appleton on Sep 24. What can I expect in orientation? How were accomodations, trainers, close quarters course, etc? Good luck with your trainer & congrats on passing!

Hey, Pirate Trucker XOXX here! I'm finishing up some employment history stuff for Cheryl at Corp. Headquarters, I sure hope they get the trainer problem figured out by the time I get done with orientation, Is this an issue often or just because of the holiday? I'm locked and loaded and READY to get in with a trainer and learn all he will let me!
