I totally agree with you here. Next to truck-specific GPS, hearing that tractors loaded cruise control now was the best news that came to me when I was deciding to do this job.

I'm in Fort Worth getting unloaded. Some Swift driver just came up and asked what Roehl's policy for using cell phones was. I just told him no hand held use of phone while driving. (I know they don't want use using the phones at all, but I'm not in a talkative mood right now.) Which the law states. He then tries telling me it's illegal to use a Bluetooth headset while driving. After which he walks away while I'm telling him it is legal to use one. Apparently he wasn't ready for someone who knows what the law is.

Yeah, I think it's OK, if it's only a one button push to answer type blue tooth, If he doesen't believe you, I'm positive the DOT man can lay it REALLY clear for him. Know the rules, Please.

    Thanks, Pirate Trucker XOXX

Only reason I don't use cruise is because of that dag nabbit sensor on my bumper. It doesn't do anything if I'm on the pedal.

I know. I don't have a problem with that, the problem I have is I had cruise on one day and a lady cut a cross in front of me to the other lane and it stabbed the brakes and I'm not okay with that. In the situation I wouldn't have hit the brakes.

So I don't care for those little gadgets. I like technology but I don't agree with certain technology on a class 8 truck is all

U can still maintain proper following distance on the pedal. U have to be on someones bumper for it to jam the brakes. Sometimes it'll jam the brakes going around a curve with the sensor reading the car in the lane next to you. Happened to me in DC. My sensor faults and resets itself and faults again not letting me use cc which is fine. Pirate I sent u a private message (pm) by the way.

Yeah. Mine detects a lot of stuff, but the lady who cut across in front of me is the only time it hit the brakes. I just don't trust it anymore lol.

Plus id rather run at 65 instead of 61

I thought getting a truck with the sensors would've been bad. But it isn't at all, my driving habits don't make it react that much, and you have to ride the bumper literally on the pedal without hitting the brake or no throttle at all for it to jam you. My first beep is within 1.5 seconds and stab brake beep less than that. If u practice a good following distance at all times you have nothing to worry about. Unless someone cuts u off and doesn't speed away or brakes in front of you. Its nice to see the other speeds people are going in front of you to help you to react beforehand not to get into hairy situations.

Yeah definitely. I like coming up on a car or truck and see that their doing 57 or something and I pass on right by them. If I come up on someone doing 63 then I just slack off the throttle or I'll pull into a rest area for a few. I aint gonna take all day to pass them lol
