Just a heads up for everyone....

Don't get caught on the Ohio Turnpike parking next to the fuel pumps. There is a ############ Trooper who wrote me a $110 Illegal Parking ticket last week. (Just called to find out how much.) I sat longer while he wrote the ticket than it took me to run in, use the bathroom, and grab a bite to eat.
I was wrong so not whining, but GEEZ $110??? Also, the trooper was a total ###. I was respectful to him and all he could say to me is "This isn't a drive thru." I wanted to say, well YES it is, it's a fuel pump and you drive through! :biggrin_25525: Oh, and there was NO ONE at the pumps... NO ONE! So I wasn't blocking or inhibiting anyone from fueling.

Oh well, lesson learned... I had a good friend in AZ who was DPS. Road with him a few times. Even with the drunkest drivers he was nice to them. He did have a few guys on his squad who were total "Jerks." Oh, well some LEO's are just....... :biggrin_25511:

That is true to an extent Lyle. You may become the go to guy for the short runs that cause you to lose 3 cents per mile on crap runs because you are the "Go to Guy." It's a slippery slope.

Only issue is if your paying for fuel.

Yeah it pays but your coming more out of pocket running with a dry box when your truck is a flatbed mid roof.

That trailer above the tractor hurts that mpg pretty badly. Well enough to see difference.

And wow, 110 dollars? Guy must hate truck drivers because that's a prick move. Well I know he was just doing his job but come on that is nit picking. Idk. Maybe the place keeps complaining about trucks parking there.. But a warning would suffice.

Congratulations Lantern! You will do fine as long as you do as you know and run it like a business. Now you got me thinking, maybe I'll lease another truck,,,, nah,,, not now anyway. I'm sure Roehl is better than CRE when it comes to leasing. My CRE leasing experience was, well,,,, 18 months of total stress and sitting at grocery warehouses waiting to get unloaded, wondering how I was supposed to survive on 1600 miles a week! I am seriously considering leasing at Roehl though. I'm sure leasing with Roehl is much different than CRE. I have had nothing but good steady miles with Roehl as a company driver. Again, Congratulations! :biggrin_255:

I plan to write alot of information in a brand new thread. Idk when I'll start it, most likely after my first couple of runs as a lease I'll write in notepad and put the notes together on how the everything went then keep updating it as I go.

I am reworking my blog to start fresh as a L/O. So cleaning that up. Hopefully some of the information I post can help at least one person.

If any of y'all want information you can PM me. Preacher was a huge help for me

In somewhere, NC. I40 exit 170 at the AmBest truck stop. This place is awesome but their spaghetti wasn't great. I shoulda got french toast.

Anyway I'm heading to pickup mini CAT tractors tomorrow to relay in ellenwood. Then headed hone for a load. I was supposed to be hone today but that oversize took me 5 days to drive 1300 miles because of the restrictions I had.

My birthday is Saturday, I just hope I make it home in time to see my brother before he has to fly back to Cali.
