Sitting in Jackson, GA at the Love's. Not where I wanted to be AT ALL!

I like my FM, but him taking days off is really hurting my paycheck.....

I came out on Wednesday, OD load out of Owatonna, MN headed to GA. GREAT! Get down there, can you fax me the permits................... Basically 4 1/2 hours later finally get my permits. Tell him, you know I am not going to make delivery time. Agrees with me to work on a Relay in Ellenwood. So I ask multiple times on Thursday is the relay setup? Tells me he is working on it and wants it solid before he leaves, not going to be here on Friday..... That was the first sign.
So, Friday morning I send a QC msg saying hey, what's the deal? Get, checkin on it response. Two hours later nothing. So I get into Georgia at a point where I either follow the permit towards consignee or go to Ellenwood. Call in......... Get one FM who says, deliver and we have a load to OH setup for you. UHM, I am over 4 hours away and it's 3PM. She says, and they close at 3. DUH!!! Let me get you to the FM covering. Switches me over, guy answers and is like, I just got the board and not sure what's up. Explain, I sit all weekend with an OD, or I relay in Ellenwood. Let me get back to you.

Anyone know who was covering the AM shift......... I think NO ONE!

So 45 mins later, I call back. So what's up? You have to keep the load. 3 days to figure out a relay and nothing! They screwed up with me sitting for 4 1/2 hours the first day and now they screw up and can't get me a relay. Talk about a waste! I sat for at least 7 1/2 hours dealing with permits and lack of direction from the planners. This is ridiculous!

    NOT HAPPY! :biggrin_25516:

That is the problem. They get paid by the hr and not the mile. They have no ###### clue what is like to see your 14 hrs tick away and not make a penny

Delivered in Greenville sc and picking up in the morning in greenwood going to MA. 1100 miles for my wkend load. Fm set me up b4 he left. My wkend loads are pretty decent but have done the shuttling around small loads back to back.

Wallen I'd say just stick with it, it could because your new or bc of freight. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and shuttle around til something big comes your way. Plus when they figure your always on time and maxing out your day they'll realize it and give you better loads. They have to feel you out at first. That's what it was in my case sort of. They ran me hard in the beginning and cut me back for a lil bit until I said something then now full speed ahead.

Tank that sucks you got that situation going on it is a waste and planners have no clue which messes you up royally. Hopefully they make it up to you.

Lyle 700 mile wkend load isn't as bad as 230 with 2 days I rejected last week in Texas. I told them I'd do it if nothing was available but my fm worked that wkend thank god and got me something better.

I hate weekend loads! Well ill time to sit and stare and watch the trucker Olympics at the truck stop. Need to pick a good one where its a tight fit and watch the action unfold. The commentary is always good over the CB if you get the right truck stop.

If you weren't so far out of route I'd come down and hang whitcha for a day or so.

Me.... Well after delivering the OD load, I got a message saying deadhead 80 miles to Pittsview to pick up a MT step. I had to send in (2) request for a deadhead number because I am not going there for free. Got the DH number and started rolling.. got there pretty quickly and hooked to the trailer, well they have NOTHING for me. Ok.... Well wtf am I to do? I can't eat 68 miles to go a petro and I can't afford to eat any out of route miles. Plus I won't stay at this place over night because no facilities...

Well after a hour of "hanging on" I called the covering FM and tell him look I can't afford to keep sitting here or eat deadhead miles. I am hooked to your trailer why would I pull it around for free? Well he couldn't answer my question, so he put me on hold. Well this time I have a preplan going to Madison GA, 187 miles MT, picking up tomorrow morning. Ok.

    How many miles is it...

Him: Well it's going to KY, its 521 miles loaded.

    Me: What?

Him: Well it gets you moving, we have a couple guys sitting over the weekend..

Me: Ok, if this is the only load in the area then I guess I'll take it, delivers monday right?

    Him: No. Tuesday morning.

    Me: Your kidding right?

Him: Well you can call in tomorrow after getting loaded and see about getting something else.

After he said that I know I'm stuck with this load.. This covering FM has alot on his plate, and great guy person but it doesn't seem like I'm getting a fair deal here.

Litte over $900 for 4 days but doesn't amount to nearly that after fuel and taxes. So 4 days of nothing to do but twindling my thumbs. I guess it's ok, I have to get my phone fixed anyways.

When my FM gets in, I will let him have a ear full. Because I'm not happy with how I'm being ran.

You shouldn't be! I'm still company so they can "jerk" me around, but you are lease. Something with all these guys (FM's) out this weekend. Is half of the FM's all in the Guard/Reserves??? This is crazy! Roehl needs to get it's act together! Think I said this last month too...
