Make sure you submit the time on your sheet. From the time you arrived till the time you finally are loaded. Send in that Macro 61 before you send in the loaded call. And make sure you write the time you arrived and the time you are loaded on the BOL. Don't let some small detail keep you from getting paid.

    Wallens05 Thanks this.

Turns out I still have the permits in the truck. The TN permit says 5 axles required at max weights (x1000) of 12, 15, 15, 20, 20. When I scaled in Marshfield, the weights were: steer 11,720; drive 24,920; and trailer 39,920 (Gross 76,540). So I was just within the TN permit limit by 80 pounds. And the only reason permits were required was the trailer axles being over normal limits by 5,920 lbs.

So as you say, we obviously had different models of grapples.

I agree with you - I would not want to run illegally even if routed around the scales. Too risky.

By the way, I didn't mind the permit stop in West Memphis, Arkansas - much better pay than normal layover.

That is exactly what is was, and I told them I wasn't going to run it without being assured if I get ticketed that it's coming out of Rick Roehls pocket and not mine.

And the whole "we tend to avoid scales with these loads".. That is what the PERMIT department said. I went WHAT? I said I'm not going to run illegal just for alittle extra $$.. Which I double checked my contract with Roehl.. I DIDN'T GET PAID EXTRA FOR THAT LOAD.

Unless it's over 100k, that's when I get paid extra.

Load wasn't over oversize at all. When I read through my contract I said what the ####, I will never, ever, ever ever pull a tow away again. Lucky me I have the swing to make that decision.. Plus what I spent in fuel hauling that hunk-o-junk was just god awful.

Jeez... Tell me we "tend" to avoid the scales. Ok just ask me to run illegal before saying dumb stuff like that because in the end game that is what you are telling me.

    ---

On a crap load right now, picking it up in the morning then driving to the customer for a Tuesday delivery.. Just sitting in Ellenwood since Saturday. Consign won't unload Monday which extremely pisses me off. What do you do though other then complain to the "Business Partner"

    ---

Other then that, I'm actually happy so my complaints aren't super duper pissed off driver. I'm just upset with the situation. Oh well. When Monday rolls around things better change.

An example based on my current situation:

    - Picked up load in Gary, IN on Friday, 19 Oct.

    - Arrived at Baltimore, MD yesterday (Saturday, 20 Oct) at 1500 (requirement is to be within 50 miles of destination; I am about 3 miles away now).

    - Will deliver in Baltimore, MD on Monday, 22 Oct at 0700.

    - Have all day today (Sunday, 21 Oct) available to drive, but can't go anywhere since I am already essentially at the destination.

Layover pay rate is $60 per day. After 24 hours you get 1/2 day or $30. After 36 hours you get a full day or $60. My current layover is from Sat 1500 to Mon 0700, for a total of 40 hours, so I will get $60.

I will also get a 70-hour reset, since the time here will be at least 34 hours.
