You're welcome.
I suppose technically the layover period ends whenever I go on duty again on Monday, so accounting for pre-trip and getting to the destination it will probably be more like 39.5 hours but since it's in half day increments it doesn't really matter. If I was really 50 miles away it might require a little more scrutiny to be sure I was truly off duty for the full 36 hours. Whenever I get a relatively short weekend run I always try to plan in a layover and reset if possible, which means planing ahead to leave the origin early enough.

Layover is when you get near the destination early and can't unload for at least 24 hours. -

But me, I'm extremely happy with my decision. Plus I kept getting reminded that I'm the youngest in the company working as a L/O. So that's either a good thing or a bad thing! -

Maximizing profits are a must. That is why I insisted on getting a APU put onto the truck, idling is not fuel efficient. As well running cruise control most of the time and never going over 65 mph. Now I will be honest, I have speed alittle bit since I've got in the truck, 98% of the time I was running 60 mph.
Number 1 cost is fuel, if I can reduce it then I can put more money in my wallet
Number 2 is maintenance. If I can do preventive maintenance more to caught things before they go wrong then that aswell saves me money.
I mean, I'm not in this to run it like a company driver, that mentality is not what makes money. I won't allow them to push me bottom barrel loads, but I also won't let them run me into places where I do not want to go. I am not limiting myself on what I haul other then one or two commodities Roehl hauls (1 is I'm allergic to it, other is I don't feel safe hauling). If I have to run with a dry box to get to a area with flatbed freight, so be it. Instead of sitting, I'll take the MPG loss for a solid load in the next area.
Idk. I'm pretty new to this so I'll have to figure out more as I go along. -
but hey I'm glad ur happy with ur choice and its going well for you don't rip them up to hard
