I'm honestly thinking of buying one of those trucks. I talked with the o/o guy at our company and he told me just make sure it has dual beds, a straight 10 speed trans. and its less than 280" wheelbase. I want the kw because the peterbilt sleeper with double bunks doesn't have as much space.

I'm going to train in a company truck for a few months then if I like it I'll save the money and buy a w900l and lease on as a trainer.

True that. I had a little flu I suppose or food poisoning while home. Fever and throwing up and is going around my neck of the woods. For me lasted 48 hrs. Been a while since sick just doing the same reasons as stated above. Minus the water I do need to drink more water

About this "old" comment. What if it really does take that much non driving time in a day? I know I am new and all, but it's taken me 2-3 hrs to Lumber tarp a load before.

Oh, and my first load had 8 stops on a scheduled 3 day run... Lumber tarps and about a million little boxes and tubes to make untarping and retarping a pita. I must have spent about that much time a day on that one.

I just finished up my drop and hook at the cons but I didn't get a pre plan yesterday so now I will be burning up my 14 waiting. I wanted to drop yesterday afternoon when I got down here or at 0600 but I was denied by Dispatch because the window was from 0001-0500.

He's also talking about that's what they do every day. If your on duty not driving that much then something ain't right. Or you don't mins burning through your 70 that bad.

When I started it took me 2-3 hours to tarp a load of lumber. Using both lumber tarps, it sucked. Now I have found my own way of doing things and can get all strapping, tarping, and bungees in place and hit the road in about an hour and a half after being loaded. An hour if its at a Georgia pacific.

You'll learn how to get quicker with your tarps. I roll mine a certain way to help with handling them. The most time I've ever spent on line 4 in my career is 3 hours. That's the Max.
