I had a flatbed driver that spent 4 to 5 hours securing every load he picked up. After about a month I suggested he switch to vans. But in my example, my dude is a reefer driver. 99.9% of our freight is customer unload, anyone in my company spending more than 1.5 hours on duty in any given day has either suffered a breakdown, is in orientation, or isn't logging correctly.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
After all, the COMPUTER KNOWS what's LEGAL right?

It used to take me forever, I have my groove of things now. I put my tarps away first then chains then straps and bungees. It takes less time as you learn different way to speed up the process.

All I have to say is thanks to the professionals we have here at Roehl for costing me money today by dropping a trailer that was in need of repairs, 62162. I hope you enjoyed your day with the wheels turning and making a couple bucks. I certainly enjoyed mine.

I'm at the TA in PA, off 80 exit 78. I'm waiting for another driver to bring me a lumber tarp. I only have one and they gave me a load that's a 7 foot tall lumber load that will fill up my step deck.

Just kidding.
Me.... I'm at Gary. With a 42k coil
5 straps
2 3/8 chains
3 coil bunks
Apparently Debbie said this is Roehl policy and is dot legal.
Well I don't care, I was trained Roehl policy is 1 coil bunk for ever 10k. Not for every 14k. Called the new FM and told him what is wrong with this load. He said his expectations is for us to do it with more then that. He is checking on things now and will get back to me. He is getting in touch with Bob P. to find out.
He also told me he is getting conflicted answers from other FMs as well. That some say it need to be redone and others say it doesn't.
Me. It's not secured to the standards I was trained for. So my big thing is how can you have so many different answers to a simple question.. -
I like Bob P, that dude cracks me up.

I just got done going through all my equipment on my truck. When i got this truck it was still set up from the other person that had the truck. I initially just glanced to make sure i had the bare minuims i needed. Now that i pulled everything out and set it the way i wanted, the other person that had this truck loved extra gear. 52 straps i found in this truck. Enough corner protection to cover the length of the trailer.
so dropping straps at the next terminal i get to. Which should be marshfield since they need to fix the truck anyways.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
