In the year I've been with roehl I've only had two hard brakes, both were from last year in December. I was fully loaded going down a steep hill with a red light at the end. Got a hard brake for that, although I did hit the brakes very hard.
The second was when I was driving down Florida 6 on my way to pickup the deer park water load. A toddler ran out from the tree line toward the road, I slammed on the brakes and got a hard brake event. Those were two actual events, after both I called my FM and told them what happened. They were understanding.
BUT, there have been drivers that have had a faulty sensor and might just be sitting still and all of a sudden get a hard brake out of no where. That is BS.

Yup gotta call about it today. My plan was to wait one year to get exp but the last few weeks i have decided to expedite and start actually looking and calling. With a mix of chaos at home and dispatch trying to make me sweat im ready to go. i make my apiontments on time dont go outa route no accidents or complaints against me. I just want to do my job. only thing i could see i could improve on is my MPG goal. it was at 8mpg in middpe of this month now its at just above 7mpg and falling becouse every load is 45 to 46k. It is not my choice to get heavy loads and country roads. think this your choice is gonna suck. feels like some people sitting around in a room that never drove came up with catchy terms that will fool us dumb ### drivers into not relizing money is coming outa our pockets. u feel me?skyviper73 and Ultra7 Thank this.

Headed out Monday. Hosford fl, to some where in IN. Crank'd the truck up today... Nothin' like hearing that diesel engine roar. Also found a song I do like figured I'd might sure it.

still not legal. to be legal, you have to have coil racks and dunnage under every pair, and none of the reels can touch the deck. but you get extra points for putting the legal number of tiedowns on tho. nice job.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

None of the reels are touching the deck. They all have dunnage, no coil racks though. All the wood is nailed to the floor of the trailer.

Just looked at the pic; nice. Out of curiosity, what does one do if you aren't carrying an extra-big pile of chains and you get a load like this -- go to the local hardware store? Seems like an unpleasant position to be in.

I hear you Driver. I am trying to make it here 2 years to help my cause when I decide to pack it up and move on. I have talked to my parents about it ( Yes I still go to them for advice) because there have been times here lately that I just want to leave now but they think I should ride it out to my 2 year mark. You should try to make it to a year or even 6 months but hey you need to do what is in your best interest. Now this is just my opinion, we as Drivers are expendable in this industry. If you do well out here the company may not be able to replace your performance but there is always a Driver available to replace you in the seat.

From Roehl stand point, always inform your FM on your intentions. Never go to a store and purchase something without their approval because more then likely you will not get compensation for it. I have never ran into a situation like DrtyD found himself in.. Maybe a trainer like Dorset or Treeforkager can clear this up better for you.technoroom Thanks this.
